Walking with women through the transition to parenthood

Birth is central to the Bible's story. As a midwife, ministry wife and mother, Jodie will help us explore the spiritual significance of women's experiences. We will think through how we can pastorally support women and couples becoming parents and create a culture which honours the female body and motherhood as God does.

Jodie is the author of 'Bringing Forth Life, God’s purposes in pregnancy and birth’, which was shortlisted for The Australian Christian Book of the Year in 2023. Her book offers a unique look at pregnancy, birth and life with a newborn, preparing readers physically, emotionally and spiritually for these experiences and the Christlike transformation they promise.

Jodie McIver is a midwife, ministry wife, mother and author. She and her husband Tim are in ministry at Blackheath Anglican Church in the Blue Mountains.
