Responding To Voluntary Assisted Dying

People in our communities are now choosing to end their own lives following the recent introduction of VAD legislation. As Christians, how do we respond to those we care about who are considering or have made this decision? We will use the scriptures, ethical principles, and real-life scenarios to equip ourselves to love and care for others within the context of VAD.

This elective will be run both Friday and Saturday.

Jodie is a midwife, ministry wife, mother and author of the book 'Bringing Forth Life: God's Purposes in Pregnancy and Birth'. She and her husband Tim are in ministry at Blackheath Anglican Church in the Blue Mountains. For this elective, Jodie has applied her theological training and pastoral experience to consider the practices and questions surrounding VAD and palliative care.
